Current Positions

Pizzaiolo for Restaurant

We’re looking for an experienced pizza chef who wants to grow into a role with more responsibility and leadership, this could lead to becoming Head Chef. The role can be mixture of both the restaurant Wednesday to Saturday and the new frozen pizza business which operates daytime hours but primary focus is the restaurant.
Our focus is pizza, slow fermented (72 hours +) sourdough base, but we also make a range of gelato and complimentary sides. We have an open kitchen for customers to watch pizzas being made.
We are always striving to improve what we do, how we do it and ultimately what we offer, providing a consistently high standard of food. Mastering our core service will be a primary focus during the initial period but there is huge scope for creative freedom and bringing your passions to Bertha’s

Hours 35-45 hours per week

Shifts 4 days generally, mix depends on whether restaurant or frozen.

Experience You must have at least 4 years recent experience hand stretching and cooking pizza.

Salary depends on experience, generous tips in the region of an additional £4 per hour.

Pizzaiolo for Frozen Business

An exciting opportunity to join the beginning of our new venture producing frozen pizzas for sale in various outlets. You’ll be making restaurant grade frozen sourdough pizzas and will need to be an experienced pizzaiolo. Currently the hours are part time condensed into 3 days but as the business grows there will be opportunity to move to full-time. This is fast paced pizza making without the evening woking hours.

Shifts Monday, Tuesdays & Thursday daytimes.

Experience You must have at least 2 years recent experience hand stretching and cooking pizza.

SUMMER Front of House

We are looking for an energetic friendly person to join our close-knit experienced front of house team over the busier summer months June to end September. There may be scope for the role to continue after September.

Expected start date June

Hours 6-15 hours per week

Shifts Friday evening and Saturday.

Experience Ideally you should have at least 1 years experience working in hospitality including table service, however if you are focused, confident and enjoying working with people we can teach the rest.

Customers are our livelihood, you should relish helping people get the best experience from their time.

Salary £11.50-£12.00 per hour with generous tips in the region of an additional £4 per hour.
